STEMulating Stories
Where Every Story Sparks Discovery.
Inspired by Dr. Whitney Gaskins’ STEMulating Stories YouTube show, this self-paced learning experience brings children's books to life through storytelling, conversation, and creative hands-on STEM activities.
Read. Imagine. Explore.
STEMulating Stories helps young learners connect books to the world around them. Each lesson features a child-friendly introduction to a book, followed by a quick STEM challenge and reflection questions. The program builds reading comprehension, vocabulary, curiosity, and problem-solving through accessible activities using everyday materials.
Your schedule, your choice
Recommended pace: one lesson every other Sunday. This is a suggestion, not a requirement. Students can begin at any time, pause, revisit lessons, and finish at their own pace. There are no fixed start dates or deadlines.
How Each Lesson Works
Meet the featured book, explore its characters and themes, and learn new vocabulary.
Try a short hands-on STEM project inspired by the story, using simple materials.
Discuss what happened, explain what you observed, and connect the activity back to the book.
